DREW DANNHORN
props. puppets. magic.

Hi. I'm Drew Dannhorn.
I have done a little bit of everything. Yes... I'm one of those people.

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I found myself drawn to two things: 1.) performing for a crowd, and 2.) building things -- well, that's inaccurate. I would usually break things first and then try to rebuild them. If that failed, I would build them into something else. Regardless, my first forays into theatre and storytelling often involved lavish scenic, prop and costume design.

It only got worse from there. Oh, my poor parents.

Three decades have passed since my first professional theatre job. Most of the time, I still feel like an 8-year-old doing a puppet show behind the couch. Play and sharing never get old. Neither does my sense of curiosity. These qualities have led me all over the world to make and share art. I've been an usher, I've been a producer, and I've been everything in-between. It doesn't matter. Being present and active are the keys to creativity.

For the past 20 years I have made my home in Portland, Oregon. My passion for visual storytelling includes projects in live theatre, film, television, and sculpture.

What are you working on? It would be my pleasure to build something with you...
